Around the country and in Montana there has been considerable interest in generating electricity with renewable sources. These include the wind, sun, small hydro and biomass. The thought of generating clean electricity to power their homes appeals to a lot of people.
Small renewable energy systems can be interconnected to the grid or used in a stand alone application. A grid-connected system can reduce consumption of utility supplied electricity when it's operating and still allow utility power to flow when needed. Stand alone systems may be desired if there are not utility lines nearby.
Park Electric has two options for grid-connected systems. Depending on the size of the generator a member may choose to interconnect using a net metering agreement or as a qualifying facility.
